Samick Guitar Company
For almost 40 years Samick has manufactured product for the leading brand names in the guitar business. In the process, we learned a great deal about not only what goes into a great guitar, but how to produce it at an affordable price. We also realized that the ability to produce quality product at an affordable price was only half the equation. There needed to be an all out effort to develop a powerful new identity for the product and our company.
Scheurenbrand Guitars
I work with a variety of tonewoods, and treat each piece individually to ensure that the wood’s voice is maximized. Living in the Islands, I have direct access to acacia koa, the precious hardwood of Hawaii. Koa trees exist naturally nowhere else on earth but Hawaii. Koa is an exceptionally beautiful wood, and for decades has been recognized as a quality tonewood. I also build with Hawaii-grown Cuban mahogany, another quality tonewood.
Seagull Guitars
In 1982 Robert Godin produced the first Seagull guitars in the Village of LaPatrie, Quebec. The concept for the Seagull guitar was to take the essential components of the best hand-crafted guitars (such as solid tops and beautiful finishes) and build these features into guitars that could be priced within the reach of working musicians.
Takahiro Shimo
My name is Takahiro Shimo. I am a luthier (specialist for making and repair of stringed musical instrument) in Japan. I graduated from Robert-Venn School Of Luthiery (technical school of making guitar in Phoenix Az. U.S.A.) in 1980. I worked for Morris Musical Instrument in 1981. I was a member of “Handcrafted Team”. So, I used to make high grade guitars and develop newguitars. In April 1982, I opened Shimo Guitars my shop, and started making guitar by myself.
Small Wonder Banjos
Greg and Jere Canote are identical twins whose music is all about having a good time. They do, you will. It’s steeped in vintage Americana — forgotten fiddle tunes, swing classics, and quirky novelty songs — but with their own twists (and a few of their brilliant original takes on the world around us).
Stefan Sonntag
Corresponding in size to the tenor ukulele, the Uke has a scale length of 39 cm. It is built like an acoustic archtop guitar, with parallel bracing and handcrafted arched top and back. The one-piece bridge provides a very direct transmission of string vibration to the body. The Uke is amplified by a single-coil pickup made by Coil Tec.
Spanky Banjo Ukes
Spanky Banjo Ukes are built by luthiers Dan Fobert and Phil Morris. Combining Phil’s longtime love affair with the ukulele and Dan’s creativity and innovative construction techniques, with input from other uke players they have developed an idea for an instrument built in the traditional way but utilizing up to date features. Spanky Banjo Ukes use a longer, wider concert scale length neck for easier play and a synthetic head to eliminate the problems natural skin heads have with changes in humidity. The advanced Renaissance and Fiberskyn head materials produce a mellow natural tone while maintaining plenty of banjo volume and punch.

Specimen Chicago School of Guitar Making
Ian Schneller began using Specimen Products as a name for his sculptures in 1981 while an undergraduate at the Memphis Academy of Art. It was the anonymity of the words “Specimen” and “Products” that appealed to him. It also seemed a funny little ruse — pretending to be a company instead of himself.
Spruce House Ukuleles
When I decided to begin making ukuleles for sale, I promised myself that I would always remember a lesson that I learned from my father: Simplicity is Elegance. The most successful designs are those that make the most of the least. Why increase the weight of an instrument and dampen its ability to resonate naturally in the name of making it...fancier? That’s why I make my finishes thin and keep my decoration to a minimum. Like the vintage Martin and Kamaka instruments that I admire so much, SpruceHouse Ukuleles are very light and a little plain. But there is nothing plain about the sound.
Don Stawski
Based on the popular triangular shape pioneered by J.Chalmers Doane, these individually handcrafted ukuleles are custom built when ordered. Made from a variety of choice woods by Don Stawski in Campbell River, on Vancouver Island BC, these Canadian made ukuleles offer unique styling and a choice of two models.
Stefan Hahl, Gitarrenbaumeister
Stefan Hahl was born in 1964 in Worms, one of the oldest cities in Germany. He grew up in a family of musicians and at 15 discovered his greatest love, the guitar. With time, he became inspired to create and play quality-built, superior sounding and aesthetically attractive instruments.
Suzuki
Portuguese cabinet makers from the Madeira Islands emigrated to Hawaii in the 1880's and are thought to have made the first Ukuleles. A cross between a guitar and a banjo, the four stringed Madeiran guitar or machete, would eventually become known as the Ukulele. Suzuki Ukuleles feature top quality materials and precise assembly techniques that produce an instrument of exceptional quality regardless of the style and price range.
