Kerrville Music Festivals

Kerrville Music Festivals

The Kerrville Music Festivals are family oriented events which are held each year on the Quiet Valley Ranch, just 9 miles south of the resort town of Kerrville in the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Our two annual festivals are the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Kerrville Fall Music Festival.

Jake has played this festival and James Hill is scheduled in 2014.

Founded by Rod Kennedy, the Kerrville Folk Festival has run annually since 1972. It is the longest continuously running music festival of its kind in North America. For 18 straight days and nights each May and June, over 30,000 guests come from all over the world to experience the magic of what we simply call “Kerrville”. The Festival is known internationally as a Mecca for singer songwriters of varying musical style. It’s a place where those just developing their skills have the opportunity to play their music along- side master craftsmen.

Kimo Hussey

Kimo Hussey

As a young boy growing up in Hawaii, ukuleles were all around Kimo. Yet, it wasn't until his Uncle Richard took him under his wing at age 5 that Kimo learned to play and love the ukulele a love that has only grown over time. As Kimo says "Emotion is the key in nurturing ukulele because people around the world enjoy the instrument because it is fun, first and foremost, and therefore provides a moving emotional reward." His music is deliberately slow, a style that he is often sought out for as a teacher and instructor. For Kimo, however, he grew up with this ukulele sound all around me. It was somewhat characteristic to all those local ukulele players to whom I ascribed a ton of respect.

Hand crafted with extreme precision in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, our guitars blend the practical with the elegant. We keep the neck out of mahogany and blackwood so that your fingers have a familiar feel while making the body and soundboard out of durable carbon fiber. This hybrid wood and carbon fiber approach lets us keep the price well under $1000 for our acoustic model, while still producing a compact, durable, and great sounding travel guitar. Our #keepitKLOS philosophy is that music is meant to always be around us, so grab your guitar and take it with you everywhere you go!
