Kahele Dana
Dana “Moon” Kahele of Pure Hawaiian ancestry was born in Hawaii the second youngest of nine children from the late John & Lucille Kahele. At an early age, family were strong music influences exposing him to various instruments, singing in Choirs or having fun “jamming” at family luaus. His Dad had a large music collection of island and mainland artists that fueled his music desires. As a child, the Hawaiian Slack Key guitar was introduced to him by Jonah Kipi. Moon performs at the Annual Master of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festivals in Hawaii. The Ukulele, introduced by his Mom, was reinforced by Kumu-Ukulele Virtuoso, Herb Ohta San.
Kaka'ako Instruments
The inspiration came from the Hawaiian Lap Steel. The bluesy, sweet melodious sound that can only be felt here in Hawai'i. We started building Authentic Hawaiian Lap Steel's & Ukulele's right here in Kaka'ako (Honolulu) and we are now part of a greater movement to bring forth the acoustic square neck design that requires no electricity or amp. Otherwise known as a Weissenborn Style guitar, it is an instrument that becomes so inspiring and personal, you will never let it go. Just like the Ukulele, you will find the same satisfaction, with an unlimited amount of potential.

For 21-year-old Kalei Gamiao, his newly released album, Kalei, has its roots in classes taught by some of the most extraordinary Hawaii musicians including Dreana Kane, Alfred Canopin, Gordon Mark, Byron Yasui, Benny Chong, and Kimo Hussey. Kalei has won numerous ukulele contests and is called to perform at different venues.To enhance his musical passion as performer, composer and arranger, Kalei is currently enrolled in the Mele Program at Honolulu Community College to get his degree in Music Business and Audio Engineering. Kalei’s dream of releasing a CD has become a reality in this album with a contemporary-classical flair.

Features leather reinforced handle opening, double stitched inside seams and leather logo. Velcro inner pocket straps pull up and over the top of the amplifier holding the pockets open while loading or unloading. The 1050 denier ballistic nylon is water repellent with 2 inch urethane backing and offers snap buckles. The vinyl model is UV resistant, mildew treated face and back, cold crack to 10 degrees and offers nickel-plated rust resistant buckles.
